How to make a call

To make a call, chose your partner from your Buddy list or enter partners IP address (direct connection).

While you are calling your partner, you will hear dial tones, and a green light on the upper left corner will blink. You will hear a busy sound when the line is busy or when your partner is not online. You can start a conversation when someone picks up your call.

When you establish the connection with your partner, the upper left light will become solid green. Now you can talk through your microphone and your partner will hear you if they have computer speakers or a headset.

Also, there will occasionally be information about other VL products displayed on the scrolling black bar above the buttons. Click on the bar if you would like more detailed information.

Receiving a call:

  1. When you receive a call, you will hear the "receiving sound" and the light on the upper left of the Gphone console will continuously blink. To set the receiving sound, see the option page (wrench icon in upper right corner).

  2. When you want to accept a call, click on the Connect button or press the enter key on your keyboard.

  3. You can talk through the microphone when the connection is established.

  4. If you want to end the conversation, click the Disconnect button.

Note: During connection, voice data is transmitted which will encumber your data network. Please end the connection when you finish the conversation.
