Solution Implementation Example:
Case: Internal use for a Japanese leasing company.
Network Form: IP-VPN is used for networking between headquarters and branch offices. Gphone is used for voice communication between the offices.
Version Implemented:
Gphone Client: Ver.1.70 beta
Lobby Server: Ver.1.00beta (OS: Windows2000)
Method:
Installation: Lobby server is installed in headquarters. Every PC is equipped with a USB phone, which is used with Gphone.
Company Phone directory: Special Gphone phone directory is stored on Company’s intranet homepage.
Participants: approximately 70 employees
Cost Saved:
Before Gphone: Communication expenses were around 1,800,000Yen/month. About 70% of the total cost (1,250,000Yen) was for communication between headquarters and the branch office.
After Gphone: By using Gphone to communicate between offices, the company was able to reduce their monthly communication costs by 600,000Yen a savings of 1/3 of the total cost.
Other benefits:
Gphone ver.1.70beta software was automatically loaded at Windows start up, and connected with just a simple touch of the keyboard. It was very user friendly for everyone, and was quickly adapted by all participants.
