Why Gphone Engine?

As the world moves towards an all-IP based medium of communication, voice communication will require unique technologies to achieve the level of quality we have come to expect from voice services. However, many of the voice communication engines are plagued with problems such as:

• It does not work with low power devices when voice data is compressed
• Large footprint
• It is not compatible with wireless environments
• It is not made for mobile device use
• Voice delay
• It does not work under cross platform environments

Particularly for devices such as PDA's, which generally do not have as much CPU power as a PC, there are very few VoIP products. Size and speed may not be an issue when using a PC, but it certainly will be for PDAs and other mobile devices.

In addition, all "communications in one form or another" will we be centered around voice communications. Therefore, in the era of IP to be assigned in every device, VoIP technology will be THE key communication technology. However, many of today's VoIP technology is yet to have shown the promising performance.

VLI's "Gphone Engine" is the solution to many of the issues raised by current VoIP applications. Already integrated in a PDA solution, the Gphone Engine has a "Small Footprint (40kb)", "Less CPU power requirements (Strong ARM206)", and "multi-platform compatibility".

SIP compatible!
The Mobile VoIP Engine, "Gphone" is completely compatible with SIP protocol for the enterprise solution client category.

With the SIP protocol compatibility a more flexible voice communication environment is offered to customers, the compatibility permits VoIP users to connect to traditional phones.

Multiple CODEC interchangeability!
CODECs can be changed or adjusted based on your bandwidth and network environment. Also, Gphone Engine is the only engine to guarantee the comfortable operation on a PDA with the high compression rate of the GSM CODEC. (Compatible CODEC:GSM,ADPCM,G.711 ,G.723.1 in 2003)

Compatible with NAT environment.
Gphone is also good for connecting under NAT environments. For server connections, Gphone Engine supports auto NAT setting of routers (IP Masquerade setting).
